Since the start of my career, I’ve been interested in cognitive science and been following the progression of Cognitive Load Theory started by John Sweller. I stumbled across his working during my graduate work and what he was saying rang true to me. Over the past thirty plus years the research has accumulated to the point where I believe we can taking into action some of the findings. But before that can happen, we need a foundation to build upon.
There are four pillars needed to create the Learning Centred Classroom are:
- Introducing the Learning Centred Classroom
- Three cognitive science findings for creating Learning Centred Classrooms
- What is Learning?
- A Novice is not an Expert
With these foundation pillars we can move to moving research findings to practice.
